Project Description
TRAVERSA TANNAT ROBLE
………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Composition: 100% Tannat
Vineyards: Montevideo, South of Uruguay, 15 km away from sea.
Yield per hectare: between 12 and 18,000 kg
Alcohol: 12.5%
Winemaking: A short pre-fermentation maceration is conducted at a controlled temperature of 4° C. In this way, an intense color and fruity aromas are obtained, after which selected yeasts are added. Fermented in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 25° C and 28° C.
The wine is aged in second used American oak barrels for 4 months.
Tasting note: Intense ruby red wine with violet hues. Wood and black fruit aromas are noticeable on the nose. The pronounced depth common to this variety can be found in this wine rounded by the time it spends in oak barriques that grant it vanilla notes, smoky overtones and a long finish. It is an ideal pairing for platters of charcuterie, intensely flavoured cheeses and barbecued red meats.
